Used Audi A4 B9: what is the checklist before buying?

I found a B9 A4 with a diesel and S tronic. What are the check points so I do not overpay?

Papers first: service, registrations, matching VIN. The B9 A4 is a popular company car, so mileage can be high and the history may show several users.
On the car we check how the S tronic behaves when pulling away and shifting, the infotainment and assistance systems, paint in microns on every panel and OBD diagnostics. On the diesel we look at the DPF, EGR and the AdBlue system where fitted.
