Are Car-Pass and a keuring enough when buying a local car in Belgium?

asked by Pieter on

I'm buying a used car from a dealer in Antwerp. It has a Car-Pass and a valid keuring. Is that enough, or should I add an independent inspection?

Car-Pass confirms the mileage history and a keuring checks basic technical and safety requirements. Neither measures paint thickness, brake and tyre wear in millimetres, OBD codes or how the engine behaves from cold.

The same Full inspection (€278.30 incl. VAT) is available for a car bought locally from a dealer or a private seller. Travel is counted by road from Antwerp – give the country and postcode and you see the exact amount before ordering.

The differences are covered in Car-Pass and keuring vs independent inspection. Order on the inspection page.
