Is it safe to buy a car abroad without seeing it in person?
asked by Luis on
I found a BMW in Germany, but it's several hundred kilometres away. Can I buy based on the listing and a report?

You can, as long as someone independent inspects it before you pay. Sale photos show what the seller wants you to see – paint readings, OBD codes and a cold start reveal the rest.
You order an inspection (€278.30 for a car in our own coverage), receive a report with ratings and photos in your language, and only then decide about a deposit. If the verdict is negative you never needed to make the trip.
We cover Germany up to 250 km by road from Antwerp ourselves; further out the partner's fixed price is €367. The whole process is in buying a car abroad without seeing it; order on the inspection page.
