How does VAT work when an EU company buys a used car from a Belgian dealer?

I run a company in Poland and I am buying from a Belgian dealer. Will I pay Belgian VAT or reclaim it?

It depends on the type of invoice and your status. The dealer may issue an invoice with VAT or use the margin scheme, in which case VAT is not shown separately. For an EU company an intra-community supply may be treated differently from a sale to a consumer. Your accountant decides on the basis of the invoice.
